It all starts here in Hopkinton, Ma. where the Boston Marathon has begun since switching from Ashland in 1925. There is a "Runner's Village" set up for the athletes in the morning and several shuttles that take the runners out here from the Boston Common in the morning.
FOR RUNNERS
Get to know Mile Marker 1 of the course before race day.
This first mile of the race is the most steep going downhill as there is a 130 foot drop in elevation. For this first mile or so runners have to find their pace and try to break out of the pack.
Although this is an exciting place to see where everything starts, it is an overly crowded place for the spectator. Best to see the race a little further down.
Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
